ginny swim

here's papa swimming towards my hand! he's very good at it and can even stop and turn around on his own without using the side of the tub. it's cute when they shake themselves off afterwards.

here's gretl swimming! isn't she great? look at her cute back leg stretching out... aww. she's become very good and usually goes for 2 laps before we fetch her out.

how i got started

well, my friend tom has been a ginnny pig fan since his early days. i got a pair just to see what the fuss was about. plus, tom wanted to see if papa and gretl could swim. of course it's a never ending "let's see if.. " with tom. anyway we got inspired by the great pictures of fluffy and baby swimming on the furry pal website. (fluffy is a ginny from tokyo - check out the link under "the first post").

so in the tub they went and both of them are naturals! neither one was afraid, but they were soaked afterwards brrrrr! they were so cute shaking themselves off.

oh the story is NOT complete until i mention how my dog hazel is absolutely nuts for the ginnys-- she really only wants gretl... she ain't messin' with papa too much! who knows why when he came home first it was all about him. now, it's gretl. i think it's because gretl looks like a baby golden retriever...

the first post

i've set up this blog to record the adventures of two wonderful ginnys currently residing in this universe; hence the name GINNYUNIVERSE.

these ginnys are named papa and gretl and they are 3 months and 1.5 months old, i'm guessing. gretl is the absolute cutest and Tom and i call her the "golden ginny." papa is the most tame boy around and he is BIG and a bit brillo-y. i think he's an abyssinian and she is an american silky.
